Heritage is pleased to announce the promotions of Melissa Barry and Judson Samuels to Partner. Both Ms. Barry and Mr. Samuels are long-term, senior members of Heritage’s investment team. Combined with Heritage’s General Partners Mark Jrolf, Charlie Gifford and Nickie Norris, the senior Heritage team has over 76 combined years experience in lower middle market private equity investing.
Melissa Barry
Ms. Barry joined Heritage in 2006 as one of the founding members of the New Heritage Capital team and has worked closely with Heritage’s General Partners for over 12 years. At Heritage, Ms. Barry was active on Heritage’s investments in OneSource Distributors, REACH Air Medical Services and is currently on the board of ProTransport-1. Prior to joining Heritage, Ms. Barry worked in private equity and investment banking, holding positions with Heritage Partners Inc. and Banc of America Securities’ healthcare investment banking group. She received her B.A. with High Distinction in English and Economics from the University of Virginia.
Mr. Samuels rejoined Heritage in 2010 having spent two years with the Heritage team in the early 2000’s. Having invested in lower middle market PE for over 10 years, Mr. Samuels has extensive experience in healthcare, manufacturing and business services companies and currently is on the board of Heritage’s portfolio company EPTAM Plastics. Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Samuels worked in private equity and consulting, holding positions with HIG Capital and Bain and Company. He received his B.A. with Distinction from University of Virginia and his M.B.A. with Honors from the Wharton School.
